1. How long is the Red-White-Red Card valid?

The Red-White-Red Card is generally issued for 24 months. It entitles the holder to temporary settlement in Austria and employment with the employer for whom the card was applied for and approved.

2. Is the Red-White-Red Card tied to a specific employer?

Yes. The Red-White-Red Card is generally employer-specific. This means that employment may only be carried out with the company for which the card was granted.

3. Can you change employers with a Red-White-Red Card?

Changing employers is possible, but it must be prepared correctly from a legal perspective. Since the card is tied to a specific employer, a new permit for the new employer is generally required when changing employers.

4. What is the Red-White-Red Card Plus?

The Red-White-Red Card Plus allows temporary settlement in Austria with unrestricted access to the Austrian labour market. Unlike the Red-White-Red Card, it is no longer tied to a specific employer.

5. Do you have to score points in every category?

No. It is not necessary to score points in every category. The decisive factor is that at least 55 points are achieved in total and that the basic requirements are met.
